The Plain-English Version First
Explore Credit Loan is a free-to-borrower connection service. Participating lenders pay us compensation when a consumer connects with them through our request form. That compensation is how this site earns money, and it never adds a fee to your loan.
You should know three things about that model before using this site, stated as plainly as we can write them. First, we are not a lender: we do not make credit decisions, set APRs, determine amounts, or fund loans — the independent, state-licensed lenders in our network do all of that, under their own names and disclosures. Second, compensation can influence presentation: which lenders participate in matching, and in what circumstances, reflects commercial relationships — our network is not the entire market, and lenders outside it may offer terms that suit you better. Third, nothing changes what you pay: your rate and fees come from your lender's underwriting of your profile under your state's law, identically whether you arrived here or anywhere else.
What We Are — and Are Not
We are a marketing and connection platform for a network of personal loan lenders. We are not a lender, broker of record in states requiring one, credit counselor, or financial advisor.
The service performs one function: transmitting your request, with consent, to network lenders whose stated criteria it may fit, and letting interested lenders respond to you directly. Any offer, disclosure, agreement, funding, and servicing is between you and that lender. Our rating of 4.7 from 4,000 customers measures the connection experience; your lender's reputation deserves its own check, and our lender comparison shows how to run one on anybody.
Editorial Independence
The guides, calculator, glossary, and blog on this site follow written editorial rules — every figure an estimate, no guarantees, the 36% APR line respected everywhere — and no lender reviews or approves our editorial content before publication.
Compensation funds the site; it does not write it. Content decisions — which topics we cover, which warnings we publish, which practices we tell readers to walk away from — are made by the editorial team alone, on the standard described on the blog: nothing ships that the writer wouldn't hand a family member. Where our content mentions specific third-party lenders, as the comparison page does, the profiles carry no referral links and no compensation relationship.
Representative Example and Rate Statement
Network loans run $500–$5,000 with APRs generally between 5.99% and 35.99% and terms commonly 3–36 months. Representative example (estimate): a $2,000 loan over 24 months at 24% APR carries a monthly payment of about $105.75 and total repayment of about $2,538. Your actual figures depend on your lender, profile, and state, and appear in your lender's written disclosure before you sign. Late fees, returned-payment fees, and origination fees vary by lender and state and are disclosed in your agreement.
